The Impossible Project
In early 2010, following Polaroid's 2008 announcement that they would be stopping production of its instant film, a new company called The Impossible Project was started to continue the production of instant film for compatible vintage Polaroid branded cameras.
In May 2017, Impossible's largest shareholder acquired the brand and intellectual property of the original Polaroid Corporation. Four months later in September 2017, The Impossible Project was renamed Polaroid Originals due to major consumer demand. In 2020, the name was changed to simply Polaroid.
