1981–1999[]
In 1981, PolyGram was started by Philips.
In 1999, it was sold to Seagram and merged into Seagram's Universal Music Group. Film and television assets were merged into Universal Pictures. In 2000, Vivendi acquired Seagram's media assets. Today, PolyGram's record labels are with Universal Music while Comcast division NBCUniversal owns the motion picture and TV operations.
In 2017, PolyGram had a revival and was named PolyGram Entertainment as a film and television production company.
