Portaro is a Portuguese brand of jeeps founded in 1975, and is a Portuguese version of Auto Romania. The same from where Hisparo originated, the Spanish version of the Romanian automobile company.The name, is the junction of "Portugal" with "ARO". In 1995, Portaro was defuncted because of european economic difficulties.
