The team introduced its pinwheel logo in 1970, and has used the same basic design ever since. The pinwheel is an abstract representation of basketball; two teams of five players. It was designed by Boston-based designer Frank Glickman.
1991–2002[]
Beginning in 1991, the logo, previously vertically oriented, became slanted, and has been rendered that way since.
