Facing financial difficulties, both RVN-2 Wagga-Wagga and AMV-4 Albury-Wodonga merged to form The Riverina and North East Victoria Television Service in 1971. The station would be known on-air as RVN-AMV. Programming for both stations would remain seperate until 1976 when transmission would be centralised in Wagga-Wagga.

Prime Television 1988

In May 1988, Midstate Television was renamed Prime Television. Due to transmission problems following the 1989 aggregation, RVN/AMV de-merged and RVN became CBN-2 and expanded into Southern NSW while AMV-4 expanded into the rest of Victoria in March 1992. In 1991, RVN's callsign ceased to exist when the Wagga and Orange licences merge to become CBN while AMV moved to VHF-11.
