Punjab National Bank (PNB) is the second-largest government-owned bank in India, after State Bank of India. Headquarterd in New Delhi, it is one of the largest banks in the country. It has a subsidiary for housing finance and also owns PNB MetLife, an insurance company that is a joint venture with MetLife.
On 1 April 2020, Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India were merged into PNB, as part of a large-scale consolidation among Indian public-sector banks.
