Purplebricks was bought by rival online estate agent Strike for just £1 in 2023 after financial difficulties. In an effort to turn the company around, it has moved to the selling homes for free model, the same as Strike's, now turning revenue through add-ons and services. In turn, a rebrand and new advertising campaign was launched in December 2023.
