On October 1, 2008, Puur NL's predecessor Radio Hollandio started broadcasting in the Eindhoven region, but this area soon expanded to include a large part of North Brabant. On January 1, 2009, the station was also made available in large parts of the province of Zeeland.[1]

In the morning of Monday, October 15, 2012, it was announced that the station's name will become Puur NL in November of that same year. On November 1, 2012, the station changed its name and became Puur NL along with a new logo.[2]
On December 1, 2017, Puur NL ceased broadcasting and its frequencies were taken over by its competitor, RadioNL.[3]
