On February 1, 2012, Qantas adopted a new logo which gives a bold statement of Australian spirit. The logo mark serves as the flying kangaroo, which communicates a sense of energy. The new kangaroo is more abstract than the previous to match the increase focusing of contemporary designs for it's in-flight and on-the-ground products. The mark is paired with a stable and formal type.

Qantas Logo 2016

On October 27, 2016, Qantas' flying kangaroo was redesigned by Qantas' lead designer Marc Newson and Houston Group in Sydney. The triangular container was reshaped to resemble that of a modern aircraft. The roo graphic was changed by losing some details such as the arms and bolstered with some gradated areas to simulate a three-dimensional feel. The wordmark had also changed.
