On October 29, 1960, TV Paranaense signed on by Nagid Chede as the first television station in the state of Paraná as an affiliate of the Emissoras Unidas network. In 1965, the station added programming from TV Excelsior on a secondary basis.

In 1969, amidst fierce competition from other stations, the station was sold to Rede Paranaense.
1974-2000[]
In 1974, the station introduced a new logo which was well-known to longtime viewers as the famous "12" logo. In 1976, the station began affiliating with Rede Globo after its original affiliate, TV Iguaçu, had its contract terminated. Prior to this, the station began carrying select shows from Globo since 1970.
RPC TV Paranaense[]

In 2000, Rede Paranaense rebranded to RPC and as a result, the station became RPC TV Paranaense.
