1978 (prototype)[]
This logo appeared in an advertisement for RTV Goldstar Service and was intended to follow the pattern of the channel's parent company. It was scrapped in favour of the logo below.

Each of the colours represent each natural element; blue (water), green (earth), red (fire) and grey (wind).
N2[]
1997–2004[]
Even after the channel's rebrand to N2, it was still frequently known as Network 2. After the 2003 rebrand of RTÉ One, announcers started calling it "RTÉ Network 2".
RTÉ Two[]
2004–2014[]
N2 reverted its name to RTE Two on 2 October 2004.
RTÉ2[]
2014–present[]
The channel's name was reverted to RTÉ2 (without a space) on 22 September 2014 - the first time since 1988 that it last adopted the name - with its logo being designed by Red Bee Media.
