In January 2012, FremantleMedia split Talkback Thames into four companies, Talkback for comedy, Thames for home entertainment, Boundless for factual and Retort for entertainment and indies. Retort ceased operations in July 2018 and within 2 months later, it was replaced by Hare and Tortoise as a successor label.
