On 3 July 2015, the Olympic torch was revealed whule the Paralympic torch was revealed on 11 December of that year. Both torches are inspired by the unification of movement, innovation and Brazilian flavor. When open, the Olympic torch reveals lines reminiscent of the mountains, sea and ground while the Paralympic torch reveals lines remeniscent of the accompishment and life of a Paralympic athlete. The torch has a golden top that is shaped liked a circle to carry the flame while the Paralympic torch's top is a loop rather than a full circle. Both torches were designed at Chelles & Hayashi.
