The first regular TV transmissions occurred on 5 January 1976. At the moment, the channel only broadcasts in English and Afrikaans.

The 4 colours represent the then-new and current South African flag. The slogan of the station at the time were "Dié een is vir jou!" in Afrikaans, and "This one is for you!" in English.

Currently, the channel broadcasts in English and Nguni. This logo was seen as an on-screen bug in the original "Am I a joke to you?" meme, making it famous for said meme.
