SBS Food began broadcasting on 17 November 2015 on digital channel 33. The channel's logo is the American Food Network logo, flanked with SBS' Mercator icon.

2018–present[]
On 17 November 2018, SBS rebranded SBS Food Network as SBS Food, as SBS' three-year contract with Scripps Networks Interactive (since acquired by its rival Discovery, Inc.) expired. They began using a refreshed SBS logo, 4 months prior to SBS' other departments. Food Network would be revived in Australia by Seven West Media, who launched 7food network on 1 December 2018.
