Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (Scandinavian Private Bank), or SEB Group, is a Swedish-based northern European financial services group. It was formed in 1972 from the merger of Stockholms Enskilda Banken and Skandinavska Banken.
In its home country it is one of the Big Four commercial banks, along with Handelsbanken, Nordea and Swedbank. Besides Sweden, it has a large presence in the Scandinavian and Baltic countries, besides Germany (as DSK Hyp), Luxembourg and Russia.

In 1997, S-E-Banken bought the insurance group Trygg Hansa and merged some parts of it into the company. As a result, the bank started trading as SEB and introduced a new visual profile and logo in September 1998. [1]
