Saint Louis Bread Co. is a bakery-café restaurant chain exclusively serving the St. Louis Metro area. In 1997, the name Panera Bread was chosen for new locations outside the Midwest as the company expanded. All existing Saint Louis Bread locations outside of the St. Louis area were renamed Panera Bread by the 2000s, and the older name, though officially recognized, is now only used on signage.
