2010–2011[]
The Galaxy 5 was released in July 2010. It was replaced by the Samsung Galaxy Y in 2011.
Some countries got the phone under the name Samsung Galaxy Europa, while others just named it the 550 (based on its full name Samsung GT-I5500). A common nickname for it was also the "Corby Smartphone", though it has no other correlation to the Samsung Corby line of phones.
Other related phones released with this name include the GT-I5500B, GT-I5500L, GT-I5503, GT-I5503T and GT-I5508 (all launched in August 2010). They were discontinued alongside the base model in 2011.
