Samsung introduced its first laptop in South Korea under the SENS name. Laptops released outside Korea will mostly bear the Samsung name but it was only released in Europe, and CIS countries until its introduction of Samsung Notebook Series line.

In 2012, both Samsung SENS and Samsung Notebook Series were discontinued and replaced by the Samsung ATIV, which later it was dropped in favor of a relaunched Samsung Notebook branding in 2014.
