Sara Lee Corporation
In 1985, Consolidated Foods Corporation took the Sara Lee Corporation as the new company name. It was named after Sara Lee desserts brand, which the company acquired in 1951.
In 1999, Sara Lee Corp. adopted the 1994 Sara Lee brand logo. On July 4, 2012, after several spin-offs and divestments, Sara Lee Corp. decided to broke-up into two pure-play food companies. The first one is D.E. Master Blenders 1753, a coffee and tea company (which eventually became Jacobs Douwe Egberts in 2015 after merging with the coffee division of Mondelēz International). Meanwhile, the remaining company which consisted of fresh meats and some dessert brands had renamed Hillshire Brands until 2014, when it was acquired by Tyson Foods.
