The thistle was stylised and a rugby ball was added. On the jerseys, the logo was usually accompained by the writing "SCOTTISH RUGBY UNION" beneath. In 1995, for the 1995 Rugby World Cup, the writing "SCOTTISH RUGBY UNION" was replaced by "RUGBY WORLD CUP 95" and the Webb Ellis cup and a springbok were added on the right and left side of the thistle on the jerseys, respectively.

The "Scottish Rugby Union" inscription was replaced by the inscription "Scotland", written in Crilee Extra Bold font.
