The Simpsons part of the logo was dropped in 1972, and it became known as just Sears (though it was still legally known as Simpsons-Sears, and many stores continued to be branded as such until 1984).

Simpsons-Sears changed their legal name to Sears Canada, and adopted the 1984 U.S. Sears logo.
1994–2000[]
Sears Canada changed their logo to blue, adopting the 1994 blue variant of the American counterpart.

The maple leaf was added to the logo to differentiate from the American chain's logo.
2004–2016[]
The letters changed from all uppercase letters to lowercase letters, leaving the capital 'S' intact.
This logo was retained on Sears Connect until 2018.
2016–2018[]
In 2016, to improve their sales, Sears Canada modernized their logo as part of a restructuring plan.
Sears Canada declared bankruptcy a year later and began liquidating their stores. All Sears Canada stores were closed by January 14, 2018.
