2004–2019[]
The Sears Holdings Corporation was formed in 2004 following the merger of the now-unrelated Sears and Kmart companies. On October 15, 2018, Sears Holdings filed for bankruptcy after struggling sales and store closures of both Sears and Kmart stores. In 2019, after their bankruptcy concluded, Sears Holdings merged into Transformco (part of ESL Investments).
