TNT-9 Launceston began transmission on 26 May 1962. Translator stations were later setup at Wynard (Table Cape) on VHF-5A, Circular Head (Lileah) on VHF-6, St. Helens and Savage River on VHF-7, Burnie on VHF-10, Derby, Smithton, South Launceston, St Mary's and Waratah on VHF-11, and East Devonport on UHF-48. In 1965, TNT-9 became a part of Examiner-Northern TV Ltd. The callsign stood for Television Northern Tasmania.

In 1976, TNT-9 adopted the Nine Network's dotty logo. This logo saw the station become a secondary Nine Network affiliate.

In 1981, the logo was modified, with nine stars in place of the signature nine dots.

In 1985, both TVT-6 Hobart and TNT-9 Launceston were rebranded as TasTV.

Southern Cross Network

In March 1989, ENT Ltd. sells TNT-9 Launceston to Tricom Corporation (later Southern Cross Broadcasting) and was renamed Southern Cross Network.

Southern Cross Television

1994–1999

On 30 April 1994, Southern Cross Network was renamed Southern Cross Television following aggregation in Tasmania. A relay station would open the same day in Hobart on UHF-31.

Southern Cross

In 2008, Southern Cross Television ceased broadcasting content from Network Ten and thus became a sole Seven Network affiliate. This logo was used as a secondary logo from July to December 2018.

Seven Tasmania

2018–present

On 1 July 2018, the station was rebranded Seven Tasmania. It would later be adopted by its Tasmanian news bulletins in December.
