Showmax is a streaming service in South Africa, which is 70% owned by MultiChoice (the owner of DStv and M-Net) and 30% by NBCUniversal. It was launched on 19 August 2015. Its competitors are Amazon Prime Video, Netflix Africa and more recently eVOD.
