Siri is the voice-input, voice-response artificial intelligence personal assistant software originally developed by SRI International for iOS devices in the mid-2000s and later for macOS computers. Siri was acquired by Apple in April 2010 under the direction of Steve Jobs, former CEO and co-founder of Apple.

The microphone glows purple depending on the volume a person is speaking at.

2013–2015[]

This logo was still seen in Assistive Touch in iOS 9, 10, and 11.0.x, until iOS 11.1.

2015–2016[]

This logo (without the background) continued to appear on the primary Siri screen in iOS 10, until iOS 11.

2016–2017[]

The microphone was removed and replaced with audio waves, similar to the ones found when using Siri since iOS 9. This appeared on iOS 11.0.x.

2017–2021[]

Siri (iOS) 2017

The audio waves formed a circle, similar to the ones on iOS 11.1. This logo has been seen since iOS 11.1 and was seen until iOS 15.

2021–present[]

Siri (iOS) 2021

In iOS 15, the Siri icon was been changed. The purple color used in iOS 11–14 and macOS High Sierra to Big Sur was changed to red. The green and blue colors remains the same.

2024 (tentative)[]

Siri iOS 2024

This logo was announced during WWDC 2024, and will be used in iOS and iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia.
