Headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, SkyTeam is a global airline alliance. It was founded in 2000 by Aeroméxico, Air France, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air, in response to the formation of Star Alliance and Oneworld in 1997 and 1999, respectively.

Following the exit of China Southern Airlines from the alliance on January 1, 2019, the suspension of Aeroflot following Russia's invasion of Ukraine on April 27, 2022 and the inclusion of Virgin Atlantic on March 2, 2023, the alliance has 19 full members from every inhabited continent except Oceania.

SkyTeam logo

Like the Star Alliance logo, this logo is painted between the cockpit window and the front door on all member airlines' aircraft, some airlines (such as China Eastern Airlines, XiamenAir and China Airlines) also painted another SkyTeam logo between the front door and their wordmark on fuselage, except those painted in the special silver SkyTeam livery that was introduced in 2009. However, since the 2020s, both Air France and Virgin Atlantic breaking this painting rule: Air France now paints SkyTeam logo on the rear the back door and under cabin windows (the original place for SkyTeam logo now became the place for Air France's Hippocampe Ailé Icon), and Virgin Atlantic only keeps a smaller SkyTeam logo at position same to the extra logo used by China Eastern, XiamenAir and China Arilines (the original place for SkyTeam logo remains on the original flying lady/icons). A white version of the logo is used by ITA Airways on its entire fleet due to its livery using blue.
