Before the launch, it originally consisted of a cloud background (which Sky dropped from all of its channels) with a globe superimposed over the 1991 Sky Sports text logo. This would later be used at the launch.

In 1993, Sky Sports (along with Sky's channels) debuted a new look with the help of GRFX/Novocom.

In 1995, yet another new look was designed by GRFX/Novocom for all of Sky's channels (including Sky Sports).

Sky Sports got a new look with the launch of Sky Digital on 1 October 1998, thus removing the "egg" look from all of Sky's channels.

In 2002, the logo kept its traditional 1998-2007 red and blue colour scheme, but debuted a new font (to coincide with Sky's font still being used until 2009 or 2010).

2007–2009[]

In 2007, the colours were inverted from red and blue, to blue and red in order to coincide with Sky Sports' new graphical change.

In 2009, the logo went through another change alongside new graphics.
