Sony Max 2 is a Hindi classic movie channel that shows Hindi movies released before the early 2000s, similar to Zee Classic. It was launched in May 2014 and rebranded in April 2017.
The launch graphics were created by Australia-based Mark Boey, who also designed the graphics for Sony TV in 2013 and Sony Pal in 2014 (as part of the Ink Project design firm), as well as Zee’s &TV in 2015. The theme colours were violet, purple and orange, and the popular FF Din font was used in on-air typography.Since 2019, these graphics are being reused by sister Hindi movie channel Sony Wah, though with an orange-and-pink colour scheme.
A new graphics package was introduced on 1 April 2017 wherein layers of a spiral shape change colours rapidly against a yellow background. The new on-screen typeface is the rare and little-known BigCity Grotesque.
