The franchise was known as 'South West' before its merger with the Island Line franchise in 2007.
South West Trains
1994–1996
Prior to privatisation, Network SouthEast was divided into eleven separate companies. One of which was named South West Trains and used a logo that would continue to be used in various forms until 1999.
1996–1997
Stagecoach Group was awarded the franchise in 1996.
1997–1998
1998–2017
In 2007 the Island Line franchise was merged with the South Western Franchise, although it keeps its own branding.
On the 27th March 2017, it was announced that Stagecoach had lost the South Western franchise to a First/MTR consortium.
