In 1992, Southdown was renamed Sussex Coastline Buses Ltd and began trading under the Coastline name.

With the sale of the Eastbourne depot in 2003, the remainder of the Coastline operations were rebranded Stagecoach in the South Downs.
Bus services in the Portsmouth area were operated under the Stagecoach in Portsmouth name.
Following the launch of a new national logo in 2020, regional fleetnames were phased out.
