Star One was renamed to Life OK on 18 December 2011. The new brand was created by Venturethree, who had already rebranded Star Plus in 2010. It was one of two channels to use Star's 'OK' brand, created for urban-focused content aimed at a progressive Indian audience; the other was Movies OK, which was launched in 2012. In response, rival network Zee created the '&' brand in 2013.
