This logo was also used by the company's predecessor, STAR Greater China, which it was a division of Star TV, and STAR Taiwan (now Disney Networks Group Taiwan branch) until 2010. It shares with the former logo of its former parent company with the Chinese Mandarin (星空傳媒; lit. 'Star Media') text underneath.
In 2009, News Corporation restructured Star TV to become Fox International Channels Asia, and both STAR Greater China and Star India were separated from them as STAR Greater China changed its name to STAR China Media, but STAR Greater China's Hong Kong and Taiwan assets and English channels for Mainland China such as Star Movies were transferred to Fox International Channels Asia instead.
In 2014, Star China Media was sold to China Media Capital. This marked 21st Century Fox's exit from Mainland China TV market.
