Star Utsav is a Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) that shows reruns of Star Plus shows. It was launched in 2004 along with Star One, another Hindi GEC (now Star Bharat), and is targeted at rural audiences.
In 2013 it was converted into a free-to-air channel, as with Zee Anmol and Colors Rishtey (and, later, Sony Pal). These are available on the DD Free Dish platform, except for a brief period in 2019–20 when they were removed.
2004–2015[]
2015–present[]
A new logo was introduced on 12 January 2015 along with a new graphics package. These were created by Mumbai-based design agency Dynamite Design, which later designed the graphics for the newly-launched Star Utsav Movies in 2016. This was the first Hindi Star channel to use the Kohinoor typeface in its on-air design; flagship Hindi GEC Star Plus followed suit in 2018, and Bengali GEC Star Jalsha in 2019.
Star Utsav was one of the last channels to abandon the old logo style of the Star network that had been in use throughout the 2000s. The final channel to do so was Tamil channel Star Vijay in June 2017.
