Star World Premiere HD

Star World Premiere HD is a premium HD-only English general entertainment channel (GEC) in India that airs American TV shows. It was launched on 24 September 2013, initially ad-free, and originally focused on showing the latest American premieres.

On 1 December 2021, Star World India and Star World Premiere HD were expected to shut down, along with several other Disney and Star channels in India, leaving Disney International HD as the broadcaster’s only English GEC.^[1]^[2] However, on 26 November 2021, these shutdowns were indefinitely postponed, due to a delay in the TRAI’s new tariff rules.^[3] The channels would eventually close on 14 March 2023.^[4]

¹	WFDF was originally in the Flint radio market before moving to Farmington Hills in the Detroit radio market in 2006. As a result of the station's move to Detroit, WFRO in the Toledo market as well as another station in Northern Michigan (also on 900) were taken off the air to allow WFDF to increase its broadcast power.
