Starz 1994

Starz was first launched on February 1, 1994. The star was composed of two stars, one large one and one smaller one a silhouette inside the first star. This version has the "encore 8" appear underneath that logo until 2002.

Starz 2005

In March 28, 2005, their logo was changed along with sister networks Starz Comedy, Starz Kids & Family, Starz Edge, Starz HD, Starz InBlack, Starz Entertainment, Starz Media and Starz Cinema, designed by PMcD Design[1]. The logo features a hand-drawn star shooting upwards and the text "starz" is now rendered in lowercase letters and utilizes Helvetica Black as its typeface.

Starz 2008

In April 2008, the logo was changed again along with sister networks Starz HD, Starz Comedy, Starz Kids & Family, Starz Media, Starz Entertainment, Starz Animation, Starz in Black and Starz Cinema. The star is now bursting through between the "a" and the "r" in "starz". This logo was originally designed by Troika Design Group.

Starz 2016

Starz rebranded its logo in April 2016 alongside Starz HD, Starz Comedy, Starz Kids & Family, Starz Distribution, Starz Entertainment, Starz in Black and Starz Cinema, and the star was removed for the first time. As a result, Starz even changed the Encore channels and renamed them Starz Encore. In addition, the text had been reverted back to using uppercase letters for the first time since 2005, when the 1994 logo (which had used all caps) got retired. The latest rebrand also created by Troika Design Group for the second time. This logo has been criticized for its lack of effort and the fact that it doesn't feature what its named after. It has also been featured in many bad logo lists.
