In 1997, True Stories and Drama was relaunched as True Stories. (Nicknamed The True Stories Channel)

In March 2005, Encore launched a new logo and on-air look across all seven of its channels, featuring a modified starburst mark (which is rendered in different colors, depending on channel; the starburst mark in Encore Drama's logo is dark pink), and the channel name now rendered in Helvetica Neue Black and Helvetica Neue.

On December 2, 2013, Encore Drama was renamed Encore Black, with programming aimed at an African-American audience.
