1965-2000[]
1972-2004[]
Many of these break bumpers feature Loeki the Lion, an animated puppet which appeared at the beginning and ending of all of STER's commercials from January 2, 1972 until 2004.
Thousands of stop-motion animations (most of them shown between commercials) were produced during the lifespan of the mascot's creator Joop Geesink; following his death in 1984, his daughter continued to work on them - albeit on a much smaller scale - and starting in 2000, they were used exclusively during ad breaks, until they were dropped completely on December 31, 2004 due to both the cost of production (saying that advertisers would have more slots in exchange) and competition. In the 80s, however, silent animated patterns were also used.
