Street Fighter 6 was first teased in the November of 2020 during the development of the Season V DLC for Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, thanks to a leak. This first prerelease development prototype logo for the game only has the numeral 6 made in fire, with Ryu's arm visible at the top of it.

This second prerelease development prototype logo was only seen in the game's February 21, 2022 teaser trailer as a placeholder. It was not used because the "SF" initials, and the hexagon-shaped emblem both looked identical to a similar-looking Adobe Photoshop logo template design.
