As a brand, Studio Universal was first launched on Latin America in September 1999, as a movie block on the USA Network, part of the campaign USA, 3 en 1 (USA, 3-in-1). After the era was concluded, and the main channel rebranded, Studio Universal brand was put dormant.

Studio Universal brand was revived in 2010 as part of a major rehaul of NBC Universal's international channels. DixonBaxi has created the new look for Studio Universal, while the logo was done by Heavenly.
The new look first appeared on February 1, 2010 when Hallmark Channel was replaced by Studio Universal.
