Sundance Channel brand was first introduced in Latin America as a programming block on The Film Zone and as a label of independent films on Moviecity on September 1999.

Sundance Channel's brand was relaunched in 2013, now as a standalone TV channel. However, the channel were first revealed in specialized broadcasting magazines between 2011 and 2012.

2017–2020[]
On January 1, 2017, the channel was rebranded to Sundance TV, in line with its US parent.
The channel shutdown on April 30, 2020. The programming library was rescheduled on sister networks Film&Arts and Europa Europa.
