Surya TV is the flagship Malayalam-language TV channel of the Sun TV Network in Southern India and one of the oldest, having been launched on 19 October 1998. Its competitors include Asianet (the largest Malayalam channel) from Disney Star, Mazhavil Manorama, Zee Keralam and Flowers TV, among others.
