Swiss International Air Lines has been Switzerland's flag carrier since 2002 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Group. The airline was formed directly after the bankruptcy of Swissair and adopted many of the former airline's assets.
On 18th August 2011, Swiss International Air Lines announced it would be "sharpening its brand profile." The new logo and its tagline, "Our sign is a promise," was introduced in October 2011. The livery however remained unchanged.
