On 23 August 2017, Modern Times Group announced that from 31 October 2017, TV3 Sport 2 will close down and then become replaced by an adult-oriented channel called TV3 Max Denmark which targets adult viewers over 30 years of age. The relaunch occured on 31 October 2017 to coincide with TV3 Denmark's Halloween special.
