On 19 December 2023, the Sejm passed the resolution demanding the restoration of legal order at public broadcasters with 244 votes in favor. At the same time, the Minister of Culture dismissed the authorities of public media, including TVP.
On the following day, TVP World, along with the other 4 channels, went off-air in response to the Government takeover, and the signal was switched to TVP Polonia. Their websites, including TVP World, were also redirected to the main TVP website following the closure.
TVP World was re-launched on 11 March 2024.
