TV 2 Play is the video-on-demand service of TV 2, the largest commercial TV broadcaster in Norway. Originally founded in 1997 as TV 2 Live as a test run, it was officially launched in 2001 as TV 2 WebTV and later rebranded as TV 2 Sumo in 2007, before being renamed to TV 2 Play in 2021.

After few years of testing and final touches since 1997–1999, TV 2 Live was rebranded as TV 2 WebTV and was finally launched.

In 2007, TV 2 WebTV was rebranded to TV 2 Sumo. This name was used until 2021.

Three years after TV 2’s corporate rebrand in 2013, Sumo switched to the Flama typeface.

As part of a broadcaster-wide rebrand on 31 May 2021, wherein TV 2 Norway and its sister channels introduced a new logo scheme, TV 2 Sumo was simultaneously renamed to TV 2 Play. A uniform dark violet colour and custom typeface was introduced for all the channels and properties, replacing the previous colourful logos and Flama font.
