TV Bahia signed on for the first time in March 10, 1985 as a Rede Manchete afiliate. Its logo at that time featured a gold sphere, that in the station's first ID, was based off the Manchete's logo. The symbol was also a reference to the sun, as the station's first slogan were Nasce o sol na Bahia (Sun rises in Bahia). However in later versions of the ident, all Manchete references were removed from the logo as TV Bahia was converted into a exclusive Rede Globo afiliate, on January 23, 1987, during a long dispute with TV Aratu.
