TV Markíza is one of the two main commercial TV channels in Slovakia, the other being TV JOJ. It is owned by Central European Media Enterprises, a European subsidiary of WarnerMedia (pending sale to PPF Group).
Unlike its foreign sister broadcasters—TV Nova in the Czech Republic, bTV in Bulgaria and Pro TV in Romania—CME’s Slovak TV channels do not all have a common brand. TV Markíza’s sister channels are TV Doma and TV Dajto, as well as Markíza International, a special feed airing in the Czech Republic.
Markíza's original logo was created by Pittard Sullivan.
An updated logo was adopted on 14 January 2008.
TV Markíza refreshed its look on 1 February 2013, featuring the FF Clan font. The new look was designed by local firm Stratégie. The newscast, Televízne Noviny, was rebranded at the same time.
After only two years, Markíza introduced its current graphics package on 15 February 2015. Instead of the non-concentric circles used in the previous graphics, this look features yellow and blue discs spiralling around the well-known Markíza logo. The Soho slab font is used in on-air typography.
