TV Markíza is the most popular TV channel in Slovakia, owned by Central European Media Enterprises, a European subsidiary of PPF Group (and formerly WarnerMedia). Its principal competitors are the commercial channel TV JOJ and the state broadcaster RTVS. The channel is easily identifiable by its two trademarks, a stylised letter M inside a circle since 1996 and a 5-note sonic brand (G-C'-C-F-G) from the same year.

Its sister channels are Markíza Doma, Markíza Dajto and Markíza Krimi, in addition to Markíza International, a special feed that airs in the Czech Republic. Unlike its foreign sister broadcasters (Nova in the Czech Republic, bTV in Bulgaria and Pro TV in Romania), CME’s Slovak TV channels did not all use the common Markíza brand until a rebranding on 10 August 2022.
