In March 2021, after a meeting between its directors, it was decided that Rede Brasil de Televisão would lease its concession in São Paulo, virtual channel 10.1 (UHF physical channel 32), to the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God to operate a new broadcaster. The measure was taken to revitalize the network's advertising sales department, which suffered a sharp drop in its revenue during the COVID-19 pandemic, which started in 2020. The TV Templo was launched on March 2, 2021.
