In 2000, Talkback was acquired by Pearson Television. At the same time, the logo was altered so that it was formed entirely in lowercase. In 2001, Pearson became part of the RTL Group who renamed the UK television production unit FremantleMedia.

In 2003, FremantleMedia UK merged Talkback with Thames forming Talkback Thames. The existing companies retained separate identities on most programmes until 2005 when all productions became credited to talkbackTHAMES.

In 2012, FremantleMedia split Talkback Thames into four companies, Talkback for comedy, Thames for entertainment, Boundless for factual and Retort for indies.

In 2018, FremantleMedia UK rebranded to simply Fremantle UK. A rebranding of the production divisions soon followed with Talkback receiving a logo inspired by the original design from 1984 whilst retaining the green colour the company has been associated with since 2003.
